About R&D

My name is Ranui Samuels and I’m a Graphic Designer, Fashion Designer, and Web and Communications developer. Im passionate about design and retail applications using design, brand strategy and account management. I design under R&D Design Lab, and I run a streetwear clothing label – RISE.

 

R&D stands for Ranui and Dee – my wife and I. We want what we do to be a representation of our family, personalities and character, and the business name reflects this. This is a family business and we are proud of that.

 

I was born and raised in Papua New Guinea until I was 18. I then moved back to NZ where I worked in Print, Design and Fashion retail. I moved to the UK for 6 years and continued to work as a Designer and Brand Manager. Ive been back in NZ since Dec 2009. My core skills are in graphic development for print and web, and in creative management for fashion.
